Severn Trent's Net Zero Hub

This year’s site visit takes you to Severn Trent’s Net Zero Hub at Strongford – the world’s first Net Zero Hub for wastewater treatment.

For EBB delegates, the visit provides a behind-the-scenes look at how Severn Trent is tackling some of the key challenges facing bioresources, sludge management and emissions, with a particular focus on:

  • Digestion optimisation and biomethane production
  • Process emissions measurement and reduction
  • Cellulose recovery and resource recovery
  • Digital technologies to optimise treatment processes

This is a fantastic opportunity to see how net-zero ambition is being turned into practical, scalable solutions and why Strongford site is becoming a blueprint for future wastewater operations.

Places are limited and the site visit is available exclusively to EBB Conference delegates.

Site Presentation - Thursday 12th November

An introductory site presentation will be given via Teams the week before the conference at 13:00-14:00 - Thursday 12th November. The talk will give an overview of the site tour and share some information on the technologies you will see onsite.

A link to join will be shared with attendees earlier that week. The presentation will be recorded for anyone unable to join the call.

Attendee Information

  • ​​​​​The site visit is only available to conference delegates, pre-booking is required as numbers are limited.

  • All attendees will be required to provide their own PPE (safety helmet, gloves, hi-vis and safety footwear).

  • The site tour includes steps and uneven ground and access may be limited for some attendees.  If you have any questions or require additional information please contact us in advance. 

  • The cost is £75 (+VAT) - this includes return transport from Telford International Centre. 

  • Lunch is not provided so please ensure you have lunch before you arrive or bring a pack-up to eat on the coach.
