Description

How can advanced thermal conversion transform the future of biosolids?

At this year’s European Biosolids & Bioresources Conference, an exciting panel featuring Ofwat Innovation Fund projects will unite leading UK water-sector innovators to reveal their progress, tackle shared challenges and showcase breakthrough ideas.

Peter Winter and Farhad Beik will update delegates on Thames Water's Proving the Concept of Sewage Sludge Pyrolysis; David Inman will present Anglian Water's All-Streams HTO project and introduce the new Ofwat Innovation Missions ATC Cross-Evaluation; Peter Vale will share insights from Severn Trent's Valuing Biochar and PyroPlas projects; Alexander Smith will introduce United Utilities’ Supercritical Water Oxidation project; and Tom Taylor will present Yorkshire Water’s Sewage Sludge Gasification project.

Chaired by Sarah-Jane Westlake from AtkinsRéalis, the session will explore how pyrolysis, HTO, gasification, SCWO, and other emerging technologies could tackle contaminants, unlock valuable resources and accelerate a more resilient, low-carbon future for bioresources.
